Law enforcement official apprehended over back child support
When some people think of unpaid child support, a number of images may come to mind. However, it is crucial for individuals in Salt Lake City, and all over Utah, to recognize that child support matters can affect people from all backgrounds. Moreover, legal issues concerning child support can be incredibly stressful for custodial parents as well as non-custodial parents, which underlines the importance of approaching child support properly.
In Texas, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office says that one of their deputies has been arrested because he failed to pay child support. The deputy, who is being investigated, has been put on administrative leave. Authorities say that the deputy, who is from the detention division, owes about $7,900 worth of child support.
In a press release, it was revealed that authorities had a misdemeanor warrant to apprehend the deputy for being in contempt of court. As a result, officials recently took him into custody over his failure to pay child support.
Being unable to fulfill child support obligations can lead to harsh consequences, regardless of someone's background. In addition to facing arrest, people in this position may spend time behind bars and be ordered to pay steep fines. Additionally, the social stigma surrounding unpaid child support can have a negative impact on their life in other ways, such as causing them to lose their good reputation in the community. For people who are struggling with legal issues concerning child support, contacting a family law attorney who understands the ins and outs of child support may be useful.
