Since her 2012 graduation from Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Nonie Ferguson has been working actively as a practicing attorney. Following law school, Nonie worked in criminal defense as an Assistant Public Defender for Broward County, Florida. She began her career representing alleged juvenile offenders at the Public Defenders’ Office, and was later promoted to the felony criminal trial division. Her time working as a litigation attorney has helped her to gather a remarkable amount of litigation, trial, legal writing, and negotiation experience.
Nonie moved from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Utah in February 2016, during which time she began her work as the Domestic Violence Program Coordinator for the Utah Administrative Office of the Courts. In this role, Nonie served as a contact for Commissioners, Judges, court patrons, and court staff on all issues pertaining to domestic violence. She helped develop, interpret, and implement a variety of rules, policies, procedures, and regulations as they pertained to the courts and domestic violence. Additionally, she built and instated statewide training for Judges in Utah regarding statutory changes, policy changes, and case law changes to relevant domestic violence and family law. While she juggled this considerable responsibility, she was also studying for, and quickly passed, the Utah Bar Exam. Shortly thereafter, she joined Just Law as an Associate Attorney and brought her extensive experience with negotiation and trial advocacy to our clients.
A passionate advocate, None is committed to the practice of law and to helping those who need it. She excels at conflict resolution, negotiation, disciplined litigation, legal writing, and analysis. Her goal with each case is to represent her clients ferociously and successfully negotiate and resolve their legal matters with their best interests in mind.
Nonie graduated from Florida Atlantic University, Magna Cum Laude with B.S. degrees in both Political Science and English Literature. She then attended Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, where she proudly graduated with Cum Laude honors.
